Key-West-Bay Jr Girls Advance to Southeast Regional Tournament

On June 11, All-Star softball players representing West Tampa, Bayshore, and Keystone Little Leagues, came together for their first practice. A mere 4 weeks, 3 tournaments, and an 8-0 record later, Key-West-Bay is now Florida’s reigning state champions for Junior Little League Softball, outscoring their opponents 105-17.

Key-West-Bay advances to compete in the Southeast Regional Tournament in Salisbury, NC, on July 20-22. The best of 6 teams will go on to compete in the 2018 Junior Softball World Series in Kirkland, WA, on July 29-August 4.

In the last 10 years, Tampa has sent 4 teams to the World Series Championship Game, bringing home the crown twice. We believe that Key-West-Bay has a very real chance to do it again.

Unlike a travel ball team, which spends months or years planning and saving for a big tournament experience, this team formed only a month ago, and the subsequent championships have made for an exciting and costly summer for the families. These girls could really use the community’s support as they live out their softball dreams.

If you are in the position to make a tax deductible donation to help the team on their road to the World Series, they would truly appreciate it. All monies will go directly to expenses: assisting with hotel, meals, and gas for those who need it. Please contact Manager Tony Roman at 813-767-4007 for more information. You can also donate online:
